Educational Background

I earned my  undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in 2020. Aligning with my  motto "create your own path, and make a difference", I created my own undergraduate degree at The University of Kentucky in Community and Leadership Development and Education with a minor in African American Studies. In August of 2020 I began pursuing my  masters degree at the University of Louisville, I graduated at the top of my class with a Master's of Education - Counseling and Personnel Services Degree with a College Student Personnel concentraion.

Professional Background

Through the years I have had the opportunity to work for a few different institutionas and companies allowing me to become a valuable asset to my community and any team that I am a part of. I began my professional career working in student affiars at the University of Kentucky  as the Senior Programming and Community Enagagement Specliast in In the Marin Luther King Center while serving as a liason for the Office of Instiutional Diversity. During my time in this particular role I created collabortive programs pertaining to multicultural students, regarding their intersectionality, and issus impacting communities locally, nationally, and internsationally, I also oversaw the ambassadors for inclusive excellence which was a student program that provided a unique opportunity for students to hold an active role on campus discussing diversity related topics.  While residing in Lexington I also worked at Transylvania University as a program coordinator for the Pioneer Pathways Program which was specially designed to support Black and Latino high school males prepare for their college transition.  After graduating in Spring 2020 I was able to begin a role working with Rasmussen University as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialist, working closesly with the Vice President of Diversity Equity and Inclusion. My primary role was to facilitate DEI trainings and create inclusive programming that would be implemented across the various campuses. Fall 2020 I began serving as the Graduate Advisor for the Student Activies Board at the University of Louisville, I enjoyed being able to plan large scale events such as concerts, carnivals, fashion shows and festivals in this role. As a part of my graduate curriculum I was able to intern for Jefferson Commmunity Technical College in their multi-cultural center where I also oversaw programming that supported the success of Black students.  In 2021 I made a brief transition out of higher education to work in corportate where I worked with the Warner Media News and Sports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team. In this role I was able to oversee the planning and recruitment for WMNS involvement in various journalist conferences such as NABJ, NAHJ, and NLGJA. I was also able to lead and support a number of initiatives relating to identity support group implementation, and creating strategic plans that encouraged an inclusive work place for all.  As I contintued through graduate school I was able to be a part of amazing initiatives that helped mold me into the student affairs professional I am today, because of those experiences I am proud to say that currently I serve as the Director of Student Life  at Simmons College of Kentucky. I look forward to seeing how the rest of my professional journey unfolds. 

Paraprofessional Background

My paraprofessional roles include serving as the following; graphic designer, social media specialist ,virtual/executive assistant, interior designer, party/event decorator, and project manager. I am beyond blessed to possess so many gifts and talents that I use in various aspects.
